Yes, it's true.

We are excited that Garrett has started to do, um, number 2, in the potty on a semi-regular basis. Not nearly regular enough, mind you, but enough to know that there is progress. We get so excited when he does it, I think he enjoys that. Now HE gets excited when he does it.

Excited enough to watch.

As in, he is flexible enough to pull his legs up towards his head to watch the show.

"Mommy! Poop! Poop!"

I look away... "Um, that's great, Garrett! Let me know when you're done..."

"Mommy! Poop! Poop!"

I'm glad he gets some enjoyment out of potty training.

Two?

Last weekend Alan was out of town. This conversation was reported to me by my best friend Jillian. It took place at church after most people had filed out, but Louise had spotted a young man with dark curly hair and glasses.

"Hey, is that Daddy?"

"No, Louise, your daddy is away on a trip, remember?"

(pause for thinking)

"There must be two daddies."

Alan needs...

The inspiration for this post comes from a friend I like to call Erik Amick, who has shown me the limitless value of Facebook and wasted time. What follows are the top eight (8) needs of Alan, according to Google (just type in "Alan needs"):

  1. Alan needs a Johnny: there are very few places this could go and stay out of the gutter

  2. Alan needs a new pair of short: what are you, my mom?!

  3. Alan needs friends: that's where you're wrong. I am a Rock, I am an Island.

  4. Alan needs a jelly mould: now finally, Google got one right.

  5. Alan needs a DLL guru: sounds like I might get hurt.

  6. Alan needs to cut 7 players from his girls High School volleyball team by tonight: easier done than written. Crybabies.

  7. Alan needs to ditch the corny pictures on the album artwork and on his site: I'm never going to get taken seriously by others if I don't take myself seriously.

  8. Alan needs parents for patty-cake: I miss that game.

Hugs

After Alan's last post about God nudging G. over the potty line, he has almost continually been dry. (Garrett, not Alan. I mean, Alan IS dry, but I'm not talking about Alan.) I am happy to have one less bottom to wipe, and the sight of size 2/3 tighty-whiteys is pretty fun too. It's tacky to put a picture of G. with his TWs on (and possibly bordering on illegal), so I'll post a picture of him being tackled/hugged by his sister instead. You can really see the "Queen/Lackey" relationship coming through in this photo.

Phantom Boo-Boo

I was in the shower the other night and heard Eliza screaming- not an unusual occurrence around here- when I came out she had a huge mushy goose egg on her forehead. "HOW?" I asked Alan and the other kids. Nobody knew. When you ask Liza she says "Door".

Now, on day 3, it has scabbed over as if she had road rash. HOW, I continually ask, could she get half-dollar sized road rash with nobody noticing? We are Parents of the Year.
