3-4-9-Go!

Garrett has proven to be pretty tuff about things some of other children have struggled with. He hardly makes a sound when he falls, doesn't even notice splinters, even likes it when we spray his 'peed-on' self with cold hose water.

But in his first pool-month, he has really taken to the water, and doesn't get all bent out of shape about water in his eyes or floating on small objects, or even jumping in without floats when you're not looking (we had to give him the 'Wait-3-Seconds' lesson so he would taper this habit). Maggie and I are very impressed with his bravado and humor and enjoyment of the pool.

For those of you who pray, please put the "Dear Lord, if You could nudge Garrett over the Potty-Training line, we would appreciate it" prayer in your repertoire.

All is well with the Queen as long as her Court Jester is at her beck and call, and she isn't required to do anything she wants, and she gets lots of crackers, and she doesn't have to nap, and she gets to call you over for help and then tell you "NO!", and...

swimmer's ear

while it is a bit much for them to expect me to quietly sit still through the ordeal of medicated ear drops, the up side is that i get to wear cool OSHA orange waxy plugs in the pool, which in turns works well for the part of me that doesn't care to hear what others are saying to me anyway.
mom says i'm a fish... something about 'bunsies' poking above the waterline.

we didn't get as much T.V. as i would have liked, but Papa Boo did make me eggs and bacon this morning like i asked. he knows how to sneak [i.e. snicker bars], which i find very appealing.

round and round i go

preparing for one last trip to the pool this weekend. i've ramped up my swimming skills and now tour the perimeter of the pool continually, stopping on occasion to do a headstand.
